Carbenoid polycondensation

Abstract

A series of poly(alkylene fumarate/maleate)s are produced by a polycondensation reaction of alkoxycarbonyl carbenoid intermediates generated through α,α-dichloro elimination from dichloroacetic acid diesters by treatment with copper metal in dimethyl sulphoxide.
