Faraday communications. Determination of the one-electron reduction potential of electron-affinic compounds intercalated into DNA

Abstract

One-electron redox equilibria can be established between electron-affinic compounds (EA) intercalated into DNA and cationic viologens such as benzylviologen. The conditions under which the one-electron reduction potential of EA intercalated into DNA can be determined are described and validated.
