Interaction of SAPO-37 molecular sieves with basic molecules: enhancement of stability

Abstract

The study of the stability of SAPO-37 free of templates has been carried out by MAS NMR and X-ray diffraction techniques. The structure is not stable in the presence of water condensed in the pores but it can be preserved by the adsorption of molecules more strongly adsorbed than water (pyridine and piperidine). Ammonia is easily displaced by water and does not prevent the structure collapse.
