Regioselective alkylation of tungsten diazoalkane complexes via alkenyldiazenido complexes

Abstract

Tungsten alkenyldiazenido complexes, which are obtained by the deprotonation of diazoalkane complexes trans-[WF(NN[double bond, length half m-dash]CRR′)(dpe)2][BF4](dpe = Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2) with lithium diisopropylamide (LDA) or NaN(SiMe3)2, undergo regioselective alkylation to give the C-alkylated diazoalkane complexes.
