Formation and decomposition of oxygen clathrate hydrate as seen by two-step differential scanning calorimetry; novel method for investigating reactions accompanied by gas release

Abstract

Using differential scanning calorimetry, a two-step procedure is described whereby gas release from a sample is made observable; its utility is demonstrated with regard to O2 clathrate hydrate and its decomposition which occurs in two distinct steps.
