Template synthesis of complexes of Co2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, and Cd2+ with hexadentate ligands: structures of highly distorted six-co-ordinate Zn2+ complexes with a new Schiff base and an aminopodand

Abstract

Template condensation of 3-oxa-1,5-diaminopentane (L1) and acetone in the presence of M(ClO4)2(M = Co, Ni, Zn, Cd) results in (2) which forms (3) after reduction; Zn2+ complexes were characterized by a crystal structure analysis.
