Formation of a mononuclear superoxo CoIII complex with a macrocyclic ligand in oxygenated aqueous solutions
Abstract
A mononuclear superoxo cobalt(III) complex generated by the oxgenation of a CoII–([14]aneN4) complex ([14]aneN4= 1,4,8,11-tetra-azacyclotetradecane) in an aqueous solution containing a large excess of dioxygen was found to be able to exist in equilibrium with the [{Co([14]aneN44)(OH2)}2O2]4+ ion, which was stable at room temperature.
