Synthesis, spectroscopic and structural characterization of mono- and bi-nuclear iron(II) complexes with 2,6-diacetylpyridine bis(acylhydrazones)

Abstract

The synthesis and the i.r., u.v.–visible, and 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopic characterization of a series of mono- and bi-nuclear (homo and hetero) iron(II) complexes with three bis(acylhydrazones)(acyl = 2-pyridinecarbonyl, salicyloyl, or 2-thenoyl) and the mono(2-thenoylhydrazone) of 2,6-diacetylpyridine are given and discussed. The X-ray structure analysis of dichloro-[2,6-diacetylpyridine bis(salicyloylhydrazone)]iron(II)-water-toluene (1/1/0.5) has been performed.
