Definition of the force factors for an interface with non-uniform curvature
Abstract
The interface with arbitrary organization characterized by the pressure tensor and the tensor of distributed moments is considered. The components of both tensors are defined at each point of the interface and depend on the coordinates. The pressure tensor is diagonal and includes cutting components. The force factors of the interface, namely the Gibbs surface tension and the first and second bending moments are defined. The expressions for force factors are derived in terms of the pressure tensor, and the expressions for equilibrium with respect to normal and lateral displacements are derived.
