A quasi-chemical method for calculating the distribution ratio of rod-like solutes proposed previously (M. Borówko, J. Chem. Soc., Faraday Trans, 1, 1988, 84, 1961) is extended to a non-ideal multicomponent mobile phase. The effects of molecular interactions in the mixed solvent on the solute retention and structure of the adsorbed layer are discussed.
