Estimated mean activity coefficients of aqueous BeCl2 and properties of solution mixtures containing the Be2+ ion

Abstract

The mean activity and osmotic coefficients of aqueous BeCl2 at 25 °C have been estimated up to 6.5 mol kg–1 using the Pitzer thermodynamic model and solubility data for ternary ion mixtures. The model parameters θij and ψijk have also been derived for solutions containing the following ions : H+, Na+, K+, NH+4, Mg2+, Ca2+, Al3+, Cl, HSO4 and SO2–4.
