Tris(ethylenediamine)zinc(II) fluoride dihydrate: X-ray structure reveals a strongly hydrogen bonded difluoride cluster, [F2(H2O)2]2–
Abstract
The crystal structure of the title compound shows it to contain the first example of a di-anion cluster, [F2(H2O)2]2–, in which two fluoride ions and two water molecules form a diamond shaped array with strong hydrogen bonds of R(O ⋯ F) 2.63 Å(av.).
