[Cu2{(NH2)2CNCN}4]2+. A novel dimeric cation containing co-ordinatively unsaturated copper(I) centres
Abstract
Reduction of copper(II) in the presence of cyanoguanidine {cnge; (NH2)2CNCN} affords the dimeric cation, [Cu2(cnge)4]2+, which contains trigonal planar copper(I) centres and which stacks such that each copper(I) centre may interact with the π-system of the nitrile function of an adjacent cnge molecule.
