Synthesis and reactions of η3-5-oxocyclohexenyl(dicarbonyl)(η5-cyclopentadienyl)molybdenum

Abstract

Deprotonation of cyclohexadiene(dicarbonyl)(η5-cyclopentadienyl)molybdenum hexafluorophosphate (1) gives the η3-cyclohexadienyl complex (2) which is converted to the 5-oxocyclohexenyl complex (4) by hydroboration followed by Swern oxidation; generation of the enolate of (4) and its reactions with electrophiles are reported.
