Unexpectedly stable nitrogen and oxygen clathrate hydrates from vapour deposited amorphous solid water

Abstract

N2 and O2 clathrate hydrates of structure II were formed at 1 bar external guest pressure from vapour deposited amorphous solid water at ⩽ 193 K; they were stabilized by layers of ice and therefore dissociated at much higher temperatures then anticipated.
