Synthesis and structural analysis of a vinyliodonium salt with an α-silyl substituent, and generation of an iodonium ylide from it

Abstract

The synthesis and characterization of (E)-β-ethoxy-α-trimethylsilylvinyl(phenyl)iodonium tetrafluoroborate (1) are described; the product undergoes fluoride ion-induced protiodesilylation via the formation of the iodonium ylide (2).
