Quinone complexes of palladium: synthesis and characterisation of the dimer [Pd2{Pd(dbsq)2}2](dbsq = 3,5-di-t-butyl-1,2-benzosemiquinone) formed by the reaction between 3,5-Di-t-butyl-1,2-benzoquinone and palladium(0)

Abstract

The dimer [Pd2{Pd(dbsq)2}2] has been prepared by treating a Pd0–alkene complex, [Pd2(dba)3](dba = dibenzylideneacetone), with 3,5-di-t-butyl-1,2-benzoquinone; it has been characterized spectroscopically and by X-ray crystallography.
