Estimations of stability constants by potentiometry of some lanthanum and erbium dicarboxylates at constant ionic strength
Abstract
Overall stability constants of lanthanum and erbium malonates, tartrates and malates at 25 °C and an ionic strength of 1.0 mol dm–3 Na[ClO4] have been calculated from e.m.f. measurements. Three methods of computation indicate that the main complexes are LnL, LnL2 and LnHL (Ln = lanthanide, L = dicarboxylate). The formation of LnHL can influence the derived values of the stability constants of LnL and LnL2.
