Poly(hydroxamic acid) chelating resins. Part II. Separation of zinc from cadmium and of cobalt from copper and nickel
Abstract
The optimum conditions for the chelation of various transition metal ions have been established using a series of poly(hydroxamic acid) chelating resins. The selectivity for ZnII and CdII in various electrolytic media of different ionic strengths was studied over the pH range 1–6 by a batch equilibration method. Analytical applications of these resins to chromatographic separations of metal ion mixtures are discussed.
