A reproducible synthesis of [Pt(H2O)(PEt3)3][PF6]2 is described. The fast-atom bombardment mass spectrum shows a parent ion signal and signals from fragments corresponding to loss of H2O, PEt3+ H2O, and PEt3+ H2O +nC2H4(n= 1 – 3).
