Isocyanide complexes with Pt2S and Pt2CS cores. Crystal structure of µ-sulphido-bis[bis(2,4,6-tri-t-butylphenyl isocyanide)platinum]
Abstract
The triplatinum compound [Pt3(2,4,6-But3C6H2NC)6](1) reacts with sulphur or carbon disulphide to give diplatinum complexes [Pt2(2,4,6-But3C6H2NC)4S](2) and [Pt2(2,4,6-But3C6H2NC)4(CS2)](3). The structure of (2) has been established by a single-crystal X-ray analysis; it has a triangular Pt2S core containing terminal Isocyanide groups. Crystals are monoclinic, space group P21/a, with Z= 4 in a unit cell of dimensions a= 26.988(7), b= 22.704(11), c= 18.211(5)Å, and β= 130.01(2)°.
