[Ni4(S2)(SCH2CH2S)4]2–, the first polysulphide–thiolate complex of a transition metal and [Ni3(SCH2CH2S)4]2–, a related linear trinuclear nickel thiolate
Abstract
[Ni4(S2)(SCH2CH2S)4]2–, which can be obtained by reaction of NiCl2, Na2(SCH2CH2S), and Na2S2, is the first complex that contains polysulphide and thiolate ligands simultaneously; the related trinuclear thiolate [Ni3(SCH2CH2S)4]2– has a linear metal frame and is formed in the absence of Na2S2.
