Addition of halogenocarbons or dihydrogen to alkenes in the presence of [Fe2(CO)4(η-C5H5)2]: catalysis by a dinuclear species

Abstract

Addition of halogenocarbons or dihydrogen to alkenes in the presence of [Fe2(CO)4(η-C5H5)2](1) has been shown to proceed by a non-radical catalytic cycle in which a dinuclear species, probably [Fe2(CO)3(η-C5H5)2], is the active catalyst.
