Generation and electronic structure of 1,2,4,6,3,5-thiatriazadiphosphininyl radicals: e.s.r. characterization of [Ph4P2N3S]˙

Abstract

The reduction of Ph4P2N3SCl by triphenylantimony in methylene chloride yields a persistent radical; molecular orbital calculations and e.s.r. spectroscopic evidence support the formulation of this species as the 1,2,4,6,3,5-thiatriazadiphosphininyl radical [Ph4P2N3S]˙.
