Photochemical degradation of halogenocarbon and hydrogenation of cyclohexene by diplatinum(II,II) pyrophosphite
Abstract
U.V.–visible excitation of Pt2(P2O5H2)44– in a 0.1 M methanolic solution of RCl (RCl = CHCl3 and CCl4) yielded Pt2(P2O5H2)4Cl24–; in isopropanol or methanol, Pt2(P2O5H2)44– is an efficient catalyst for the photohydrogenation of cyclohexene and cyclopentene.
