Relationship of torsion angle to 17O n.m.r. chemical shift data for aryl ketones

Abstract

The natural abundance 17O n.m.r. spectra of thirteen variously hindered aryl ketones are reported and correlated with the torsion angle, predicted by molecular mechanics calculations, between the carbonyl group and the aromatic ring.
