E.s.r. spectral change of the radical Me3CCH2Ċ(CN)SEt by complexation with SnCl4 in solution

Abstract

E.s.r. spectra reveal that the complexation of the radical Me3CCH2Ċ(CN)SEt with SnCl4 in chlorobenzene reduces both spin density at the radical centre and the standard enthalpy for the dimer ⇌; radical equilibrium.
