Inelastic electron tunnelling spectroscopy study of the adsorption of carboxylic acids, ethanol and pyridine on aluminium oxide pretreated with hydrogen chloride
Abstract
The effect of the preadsorption of HCl on the subsequent adsorption on alumina of carboxylic acids, ethanol and pyridine has been examined by inelastic electron tunnelling spectroscopy. The spectra are interpreted in terms of adsorption sites which have been previously identified on the alumina surface of tunnel junctions.
