Thermal and photochemical addition of phenyl(arylsulphonyl)acetylenes to alkenes

Abstract

Phenyl(arylsuphonyl)acetylenes add thermally or photochemically to alkenes to afford stereospecifically trans products which are formal adducts of the two fragments derived from homolytic cleavage of the carbon–sulphur bond.
