Metal atom synthesis and photochemistry of bis(η-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)-tungsten dihydride
Abstract
Cocondensation of tungsten vapour with 1,2,3,4,5-pentamethylcyclopentadiene gives bis(η-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)tungsten dihydride, (η-C5Me5)2WH2; photolysis of the dihydride yields, sequentially, the ‘tucked-in’ compounds (η-C5Me5)W(η-C5Me4CH2)H and (η-C5Me5)W(η-C5Me3CH2CH2).
