Synthesis and structures of Re6(CO)18(µ4-PMe)3 and Re5(CO)14(µ4-PMe)(µ-PMe2)(µ3-P[Re(CO)5]); two new rhenium cluster geometries
Abstract
Reaction of Re4Cl2(CO)15{MePP(Me)PMe} with Re2(CO)10 at 230–250 °C leads to formation of the trigonal prismatic Re6(CO)18(µ4-PMe)3 and square pyramidal Re5(CO)14(µ4-PMe)(µ-PMe2){µ3-P[Re(CO)5]}, new rhenium cluster geometries which have been characterized by X-ray crystal analysis.
