Deprotonation and anionic rearrangements of organometallic compounds. Reactions of the hydride complex (η5-C5H5)Re(NO)(PPh3)(H) with n-butyl-lithium–tetramethylethylenediamine

Abstract

The title reaction (–71 °C; 1 h) gives (η5-C5H4Li)Re(NO)(PPh3)(H)(8), which subsequently rearranges intramolecularly (–32 °C; 0.5 h) to give Li+[(η5-C5H5)Re(NO)(PPh3)](3); the anions (8) and (3) are characterized by reaction with electrophiles.
