1-Methyl-3H-pyrazolo[1,2-a]benzotetrazin-3-one decomposes in alcohols, with loss of nitrogen and intramolecular hydrogen transfer, to form 5-alkoxymethyl-1,2-dihydro-1-phenyl-3H-pyrazol-3-ones.
