Volumes of activation for electron transfer between manganate-(VI) and -(VII) in aqueous alkaline solution
Abstract
The volume of activation for electron transfer between the aqueous manganate and permanganate ions by the cation-independent pathway is much more negative (–21 ± 1 cm3 mol–1 at 45 °C and ionic strength 1.1 mol l–1) than can be accounted for by conventional theory.
