Analysis of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol-cannabinol mixtures by second-derivative ultraviolet spectrometry
Abstract
Δ9-Tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabinol exhibit overlapping zero-order ultraviolet absorption spectra. The second-derivative ultraviolet spectra of the drugs provide an improved resolution of the overlapping bands and are more useful analytically. The amplitude (Dλ) and the amplitude difference (Dλ1–Dλ2) of some selected maxima and minima are correlated with the concentration of the drugs in solution.
