Immobilisation of platinum(II) in the form of chloro(trichlorostannato)platinum(II) anions by polyurethane foams

Abstract

In the presence of sufficient tin(II) chloride, chloro(trichlorostannato)platinum(II) anions are rapidly absorbed by open-cell polyurethane foams from dilute hydrochloric acid solution. Sorptive capacities of up to 0.5 mol kg–1 of Pt in foam may be obtained.
