A short synthesis via a common intermediate of N1- and N8-monoacylspermidine conjugates
Abstract
N 1 - and N8-Substituted spermidine (1) conjugates formed with different oxygenated cinnamic acids occur in many higher plants and also in some micro-organisms. A short and efficient synthetic route to such compounds (14)–(17), (21), and (22) is described by way of the suitably protected spermidine derivative (2) which undergoes selective deprotection and monoacylation.
