The preparation, 11B, 1H, and 31P nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, and properties of alkylidenetriphenylphosphorane–triborane(7), P(C6H5)3CHRB3H7(R = H, CH3, or C6H5)
Abstract
Ylide derivatives of triborane(7) of the alkylidenetriphenylphosphorane type [P(C6H5)3CHRB3H7, where R = H, CH3, or C6H5] have been prepared from B3H7·thf (thf = tetrahydrofuran) by ligand displacement. Their structures have been established by 11B, 1H, and 31P n.m.r. spectroscopy and thermal and electrochemical properties investigated.
