Structure and dynamics of [Rh4(CO)9(SCH2SCH2SCH2)]: a fluxional butterfly

Abstract

[Rh4(CO)9([graphic omitted]H2)] adopts a ‘butterfly’ rhodium skeleton with a CO bridging the wing -tip atoms in the crystal and in solution; at ambient temperature in solution, the rhodium skeleton is non rigid with the inter wing-tip vector exchanging between three adjacent positions.
