Toluene-p-sulphonate as a metal–metal bond bridging ligand; the crystal structure of [{Rh2(6-methylpyridin-2-olato)3(p-MeC6H4SO2O)}2]·Et2O
Abstract
Toluene-p-sulphonic acid displaces one of the 6-methylpyridin-2-olato (mhp)ligands of[Rh2(mhp)4]; the product dimerises to form [{Rh2(mhp)3(p-MeC6H4SO2O)}2],in which each toluene-p-sulphonate ligand bridges a Rh–Rh bond, as demonstrated by a crystal structure determination.
