Controlled-dispersion flow analysis in clinical chemistry: determination of albumin, triglycerides and theophylline

Abstract

Controlled-dispersion flow analysis is a new technique using non-segmented flowing streams. Sample introduction is by aspiration rather than by injection. This offers several advantages over the use of injection valves. Greater reliability and reduced sample and reagent consumption are attributes that should make the new technique attractive to clinical chemists. The determination of albumin, triglycerides and theophylline in blood plasma is used to demonstrate the flexibility of this approach to a variety of different analytical applications.
