Chemistry of pyrrocorphins: C-methylations at the periphery of pyrrocorphins and related corphinoid ligand systems

Abstract

Various corphinoid model systems bearing a methyl group at the meso position C-20 have been found to undergo regioselective chemical C-methylation at the ligand periphery, mimicking enzymic C-methylation occurring in vitamin-B12 biosynthesis.
