Synthesis and structure of a cluster complex containing the dication [Pd33-CO)(µ-Ph2PCH2PPh2)3]2+

Abstract

Reaction of Pd(OAc)2 with Ph2PCH2PPh2 under CO in a solvent containing excess of CF3CO2H yields the first example of a dicationic cluster of palladium, [Pd3(µ3-CO)(µ-Ph2PCH2PPh2)3]2+, the structure of which has been established by X-ray crystallography.
