Crystal structure of the self condensation product of (3R,4R)-3,4-dihydroxyhexane-2,5-dione

Abstract

Two molecules of (3R,4R)-3,4-dihydroxyhexane-2,5-dione condense to afford a novel, tricyclic acetal whose structure has been determined by X-ray crystallography.
