X-Ray crystal structure of an ionic trialkyldiaquotin(IV) cyclopentadiene derivative, [Bu3Sn(OH2)2]+[C5(CO2Me)5]

Abstract

Penta (methoxycarbonyl)cyclopentadiene reacts with bistributyltin oxide to give the salt [Bu3Sn(OH2)2]+[C5(CO2Me)5]; X-ray analysis shows that the cation is trigonal bipyramidal, with apical water molecules.
