Enhanced electrophilicity of co-ordinated ethylene in a cationic platinum(II) complex

Abstract

The complex [Pt(η2-C2H4)Cl(tmen)]+(tmen =N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine), in which ethylene is unsymmetrically bound to the metal, reacts with NO2, and N3 to give stable addition products.
