Significance of anion effects in the determination of dissociation constants of strong acids by proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy
Abstract
It is shown that the anionic contribution to the 1H chemical shifts of aqueous acid solution does not affect the dissociation constants derived from the measured chemical shifts, although it does result in the behaviour of each type of acid being different even in the region where it is fully dissociated.
