Exclusive polarisation transfer within methine (CH) groups only. Generation of a methine 13C n.m.r. subspectrum

Abstract

A new heteronuclear pulse sequence is described, which combines the principles of polarisation transfer between scalar coupled heteronuclei with the phenomenon of correlated motion between such heteronuclei in the doubly rotating reference frame, and gives in 13C n.m.r., for example, an accurate spectrum of just methine groups, which, compared to other methods, is relatively insensitive to the value of the assumed scalar coupling constant.
