Photosensitized reductions of anthraquinone sulphonates in coupled electron transfer reactions
Abstract
Photosensitized reductions of anthraquinone sulphonates in SiO2 colloids are mediated by propyl viologen sulphonate (PVSĀ°)(1) as a primary electron acceptor; reduction yields are affected by electrostatic repulsions of the reduced acceptors from the negatively charged colloid.
