Synthesis and characterisation of mixed-metal clusters containing elements of the iron triad and gold: X-ray crystal structures of [Os4Au(µ-H)(CO)13(PEt3)] and [Os4Au(µ-H)3(CO)12(PEt3)]

Abstract

The clusters [Os4AuH(CO)13(PR3)](1), [Os3FeAuH(CO)13(PR3)](2), [Os4AuH3(CO)12(PR3)](3), [Ru4AuH3(CO)12(PEt3)](4), and [Os5AuH(CO)15(PR3)](5)(R = Ph, Et) have been synthesised by the reaction of the appropriate cluster anion with [PR3AuCl]; the structures of (1) and (3) have been established by single-crystal X-ray analyses.
